Lamborghini is set for more one-make racing with a reviewed Super Trofeo Huracan also known as the EVO. Based on the last model Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo, the EVO designation comes from a thoroughly amended aerodynamic kit, also with well improved safety standards.
The newly introduced body equipments was co-developed with Dallara Engineering company, the manufacturing company that builds the LMP2 chassis for Le Mans, IndyCar chassis, DPi chassis for IMSA, KTM’s X-Bow, Alfa Romeo’s 4C, and also the chassis for the Bugatti Chiron.
Statements from Lamborghini says, the amended aerodynamic set was chosen to maintain the Super Trofeo’s high-downforce, but “achieve higher overall aerodynamic efficiency and…less resistance to forward travel with improved stability.”
The race-spec supercar is still propelled by the same usually aspirated V-10 engine, generating 620 hp, but now develops 3 percent additional torque at top speed than the previous generation Super Trofeo. The engine is attached to a six-speed sequential gearbox made by X-Trac and transmit power to the rear wheels only.
The newly amended Huracan Super Trofeo EVO costs about $295,000 in the U.S. and will make its official track unveil in the spring of next year; 2018.
Users who already own Huracan Super Trofeos won’t be sidelined though, as Lamborghini will offer the improved upgrades and kit as a different package, although the cost of this wasn't specified.
In an interview with Sportscar365, Lamborghini’s head of motorsport; Giorgio Sanna, said
Our customers are the main reason we continue in our pursuit of excellence and ongoing improvements. But with the EVO, we wanted to give our customers an even more thrilling experience at the wheel with superior performance and stability.
