The 2018 Hyundai Accent First Look.

At the 2017 Orange County auto show, Hyundai revealed the U.S.-spec 2018 Accent and it comes bearing a lot of new and convenient features. Unfortunately, only the Canadian market will have the 2018 Hyundai Accent hatchback exclusive to itself while the sedan only will be available in the U.S.
Inside the 2018 Accent is a conservative interior that features a touchscreen at the center of the dashboard and multiple buttons and knobs for audio and climate controls. Some of the notable tech features include a standard 5.0-inch screen on base models or a 7.0-inch touchscreen on the midgrade SEL and Limited models. Apple Car-Play and Android Auto are standard on the highest trims along with a small-sized multi-information display in between the gauges. A rear-view camera and Bluetooth connectivity are standard features on all 2018 Accents.

A number of new convenience features which include key-less entry/start, heated front seats, automatic climate control, and the hands-free Smart Trunk is included in the 2018 Accent higher trims. Other features included in higher trims are LED daytime running lights, a sunroof, LED taillights, 17-inch alloy wheels and dual USB ports. The 2018 Accent will also feature a forward collision warning and also includes automatic emergency braking on some models. Some trims of the 2018 Accent will have compatibility feature with Hyundai’s BlueLink telematics service that allows for remote start via the BlueLink app or Amazon Alexa through Google Home or Amazon Echo gadgets.

Compared to the car it surpasses, the 2018 Hyundai Accent in 0.6 inch longer, 1.2 inches wider, with a 0.4 inch longer wheelbase. The car’s latest platform is made out of 54.5 percent high-strength steel, which is about 13 percent higher than the previous models, resulting in a 32 percent advancement in torsional rigidity in the latest model. Hyundai also let us know it has also improved the 2018 Accent’s driving techniques, crash resistivity, and noise decrease, all due to the extensive use of high-strength steel.
Below the high-strength steel hood of the 2018 Accent is a revised 1.6-liter I-4 with an approximate output of 130 hp and 119 lb-ft of torque, which is a little bit less than the previous car. Hyundai says that it has re-tuned the engine for better driving performance and a better power-band by improving low-end torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, and a six-speed automatic is optional. Fuel economy is increased up by 7 percent, due to effective engine revisions which include the new low-friction piston rings, a variable fuel pressure module, and an advanced and improved software engine software control module. The optional six-speed automatic has also been made to perform better, and weight is 4 pounds lighter than the old model. A drive mode selector that enables drivers to switch between Normal and Sport modes is featured on the automatic-equipped Accent models. Below are more images;
